Pinpoint Test B - Door Lock System Inoperative

  1. Check 10-amp ELECTRON BAT fuse in interior fuse block, and 30-amp POWER WINDOW fuse in engine compartment fuse block. If fuses are okay, go to step 4). If fuses are blown, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Replace faulty fuses and check again. If fuses are good, go to step 4). If fuses are blown, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove blown fuses. Disconnect control module connectors from left side instrument panel lower cover. Measure resistance of Purple wire between left side of 10-amp fuse holder and ground. Measure resistance of Blue/White wire between battery side of 30-amp fuse holder and ground. If resistances are more than 5 ohms, replace fuses and go to next step. If any resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair wire in question.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect control module connectors. Measure voltage on Purple wire between 20-pin connector and ground. Measure voltage on Light Green wire between 8-pin connector and ground. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to step 7). If voltage is less than 10 volts on Purple wire, repair wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts on Light Green wire, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Remove right side circuit breaker from behind interior fuse panel. Measure voltage on White/Blue wire at circuit breaker connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair White/Blue wire.
  6. Turn ignition off. Remove right side circuit breaker. Measure resistance between circuit breaker terminals. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Light Green wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace circuit breaker.
  7. Turn ignition off. Disconnect control module connectors. Measure resistance of Black wire between 20-pin module connector and ground. Measure resistance of Black wire between 8-pin module connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire(s).
  8. Turn ignition off. Disconnect keypad connector from driver's door. Measure resistance of Black wire between connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to PINPOINT TEST A  . If door lock system is still inoperative, replace control module. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire.
