Cruise Control Module: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Pontiac Grand Am, 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva, and 1997 Buick Skylark. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On 2.4L, remove air intake duct assembly. On all vehicles, remove cruise control cable at engine bracket and throttle body cam. Remove cruise control cable from cruise control module. Disconnect module electrical connector.
  2. Remove retaining nut and screws. Remove cruise control module assembly from front of bulkhead. See Figure . Remove module assembly from mounting bracket.
CAUTION: DO NOT install screws into module without mounting bracket between module and screw, or cruise control module may be damaged.
