Coding Transmitter

NOTE: Any transmitter(s) that are previously matched, will be erased when receiver is in programming mode.

Do the following procedure whenever the data encoder connector is grounded, the keyless entry module is replaced, the remote transmitter is replaced or a second transmitter is added.

  1. Open rear compartment lid and position carpet (next to the antenna) aside.
  2. Access the program wire terminal. Using a jumper wire with alligator clips, jumper the data encoder connector to ground. See Fig 1 . All power door locks will lock and unlock, indicating that the receiver is in the programming mode. Removing the jumper wire before the second transmitter is programmed, will prevent transmitters from being matched. If transmitters are not matched, repeat coding procedure leaving jumper wire connected until all transmitters are matched.

  3. With system grounded, press (first) transmitter button once. Door locks should automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the transmitter code has been set.
  4. To program a second transmitter, press any button once on second transmitter. Door locks should automatically lock and unlock.
  5. Disconnect data encoder jumper connector after locks have cycled.
  6. Verify that the transmitter(s) operate door locks and trunk release.
