Fuel Injection Control Module: Removal

Fuel Injection Control Module (FICM) is located left of the radiator support behind fascia.
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the Front Bumper Fascia.
- Disconnect the FICM harness connector. See Fig 1.
- Remove the 4 FICM mounting bolts.
- Remove the FICM from the vehicle. Perform the following steps only if removal of the FICM Mounting Bracket is desired.
- Remove the hood close-out filler panel (1) push-pin retainers (2). See Fig 2.
- Disable the SIR system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.
- Disconnect the SIR forward discriminating sensor connector.
- Remove the upper hood latch support bolts and upper radiator mounting bolts and brackets. See Fig 3.
- Angle the radiator assembly towards the front of the vehicle to allow for FICM bracket bolt removal.
- Remove the FICM mounting bracket bolts and the support plate while holding the radiator in a forward position. See Fig 4.
- Remove the FICM mounting bracket from the vehicle.
