Fuel Injection Control Module: Installation

NOTE: Proceed to step  8, if installation of the FICM mounting bracket is not required.
  1. Install the FICM mounting bracket bolts through the support plate while holding the radiator in a forward position. See Figure.
  2. Loosely install both of the FICM mounting bracket bolts into the FICM mounting bracket. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install the radiator upper mounting brackets and bolts. See Figure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install the upper hood latch support bolts. See Figure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Connect the SIR forward discriminating sensor connector.
  6. Enable the SIR system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in RESTRAINTS.
  7. Install the hood close-out filler panel. Install the hood close-out filler panel push-pin retainers. See Figure.
  8. Loosely install all of the FICM mounting bolts while ensuring that the FICM rubber isolators and spacers remain in position. See Fig 1. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Connect the FICM connector. See Figure.
  10. Install the Front Bumper Fascia.
  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
