SAI Front Inlet Pipe Removal

  1. Remove the engine cover. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove the bypass pipe with valve, keeping the "O" ring from the connection to the turbocharger inlet pipe.
  3. Unplug the connector from the temperature/pressure sensor on the charge air pipe.
  4. Detach the charge air pipe from the throttle body.
  5. Raise the car.
  6. Detach the charge air pipe form the charge air cooler leaving the clip to hang on the cooler.
  7. Lower the car to the floor.
  8. Remove the charge air pipe.
  9. Remove the heat shield over the front exhaust manifold. See Fig 2 .
  10. Remove the air connection to the secondary air injection valve by pressing together the clip and pulling it back.
  11. Remove the inlet pipe from the front exhaust manifold, 3 bolts, and from the cylinder head, 1 nut. See Fig 3 .
  12. Remove the secondary air injection valve from the inlet pipe.
