Engine, Installing: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

CAUTION:

Note the following whenever working inside the engine compartment due to limited space:

  • Route all lines and wires in their original locations.
  • Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.

-- Make sure there is enough clearance for the subframe and radiator when installing the engine/transmission subassembly.

-- Align the engine mount as follows:

-- Tighten the bolts for the engine mount. Tightening specifications 60 Nm + an additional 90° (1/4) turn.

-- Install the pendulum support.

NOTE:

For the engine mount, pendulum support and transmission mount bolt tightening specifications, refer to ENGINE/TRANSMISSION MOUNTS OVERVIEW .

-- Install the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converters to the exhaust manifolds. Refer to EXHAUST PIPE WITH CATALYTIC CONVERTER .

-- Install the drive axles. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the right drive axle heat shield and bolts.

-- Install the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR .

-- Install the fan shroud. Refer to FAN SHROUD .

-- Connect the fuel supply line -1- and vent line -2-. Refer to "Coupling, Disconnecting" in the Description and Operation .

-- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT .

-- Reset the lock carrier service position. Refer to "Lock Carrier" in Description and Operation .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to Description and Operation .

-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Check all Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memories and erase any faults.

-- Perform a road test.

-- Perform another vehicle system test and correct any faults.

NOTE:

Generate a readiness code if the DTC memory was erased. Refer to "Guided Function" in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
