Assembly Mounts, Checking And Adjusting
Risk of injury due to overloading the engine support.
Improper handling can lead to damage of the tool and to injury.
- Never loosen or remove the engine and transmission mount at the same time.
Engine Mount
-- Loosen the coolant expansion tank and move to the side. Refer to Coolant Expansion Tank, Removing and Installing .
-- Determine the dimension -a- in between the engine mount -1- and the engine support -2-.
Requirement
- The engine mount -1- and the engine support -2- must be parallel to each other. Refer to Check and Adjustment Values .
If the Check and Adjustment Values are Not Reached:
-- Support the engine in the installation position. Refer to Engine, Supporting in Installation Position .
-- Remove the engine mount bolts -arrows-.
-- Screw in the new bolts -arrows- by hand.
-- Align the engine mount. Refer to Check and Adjustment Values .
-- Tighten the bolts on the engine mount.

Transmission Mount
Engine Compartment Battery
-- Remove the battery tray. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Luggage Compartment Battery
-- Remove the air filter housing mount.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Determine the dimensions -a-.
Requirement
- The support arm edges and the transmission support must be parallel to each other. Refer to Check and Adjustment Values .
If the Check and Adjustment Values are Not Reached:
-- Support the engine in the installation position. Refer to Engine, Supporting in Installation Position .
Vehicles with Two Transmission Bolted Connections
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Screw in the new bolts -arrows- by hand.
Vehicles with Three Transmission Bolted Connections
-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.
-- Screw in the new bolts -arrows- by hand.
Continuation for All Vehicles
-- Align the transmission mount. Refer to Check and Adjustment Values .
-- Tighten the transmission mount bolts.
