Selector Lever Cable, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.

Do not lubricate the selector lever cable.

After installing the selector mechanism, the selector lever cable must be checked for ease of movement and adjusted. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .

-- Guide the cable on the selector mechanism, insert in the selector lever and install the new lock washer.

-- Install the tunnel heat shield. Refer to OVERVIEW - HEAT SHIELD .

-- Guide the selector lever cable -2- into the cable bracket and secure it with a new lock washer -3-.

-- Check and adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .

-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .

-- Press the selector lever cable ball head -1- onto the selector lever -arrow-.

-- Install the battery tray and the battery. Refer to BATTERY TRAY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the air filter housing with the air duct hose. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
