Theft Deterrent System Components: Notes

NOTE: Theft deterrent control module may also be referred to as PASS-Key(R) III (PK3) module.
NOTE: When replacing a PK3 module with an original equipment replacement part, set up module prior to performing relearn procedure. See ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT THEFT DETERRENT CONTROL MODULE SET UP  .
NOTE: New PK3 modules are unprogrammed. New PK3 module automatically learns first PK3 master key used to start engine. Additional ignition keys for vehicle must also be programmed. Ensure all ignition keys are available for programming.
NOTE: A scan tool and Techline(R) terminal can be used to perform relearn procedure in about 10 minutes. See 10-MINUTE RELEARN PROCEDURE  . Programming theft deterrent relearn without scan tool and Techline(R) terminal will take about 30 minutes. See 30-MINUTE RELEARN PROCEDURE  .
