Removal & Installation
- PCM is located behind the front floor console. See Fig 1
. Turn ignition off. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove glove box. Remove console support bracket. See Fig 2
. Remove left knee bolster trim panel. Remove left knee bolster. Remove center trim panel. See Fig 3
. Remove radio, if equipped.
- On A/T models, remove the shifter trim plate from the front floor console. On M/T models, remove the manual shifter knob and shifter boot from the front floor console. On all models, remove 2 bolts in rear console box. See Fig 4
. Remove 2 screws on sides of center console. Slide rear portion of the rear console box back toward rear seats. Remove 2 upper screws of the front floor console. Remove the front floor console.
- Disconnect harness connectors from PCM. Remove mounting bolts from PCM. Remove PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten PCM mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
. Reactivate air bag system.
