Compass/Mini-Trip Test 2A - CMTC Displays SC

NOTE: Perform COMPASS/MINI-TRIP TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Disconnect the ambient temperature sensor connector. See Fig 1 . Observe compass/mini-trip display. If compass/mini-trip displays SC, replace ambient temperature sensor. If compass/mini-trip does not display SC, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, probe ambient temperature sensor connector terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short in Dark Green/Red wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
  3. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between ambient temperature sensor connector terminals No. 1 (Light Green/White wire) and No. 2 (Dark Green/Red wire). If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, repair short in Dark Green/Red wire. If resistance is 1000 ohms or more, replace BCM.
