Windshield Wiper Test 2A - Repairing Open Intermittent Wiper Relay Circuit

NOTE: Perform POWER WINDOW TEST 1A  before proceeding. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  and WIRING DIAGRAM. See WIPER/WASHER SYSTEM article. Perform TEST VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
  1. Remove intermittent wiper relay. Wiper relay is located in power distribution center. Power distribution center is located in engine compartment. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between wiper relay terminals No. 85 and 86. See Figure under ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM TEST 4A. If resistance is not 65-85 ohms, replace wiper relay. If resistance is 65-85 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between wiper relay connector terminal No. 85 (Yellow/Light Green Wire) and chassis ground. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) White 24-pin connector. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between BCM White 24-pin connector terminal No. 23 (Yellow/Light Green wire) and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Light Green wire.
