Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS) Indicator Not Operating Properly
- Turn ignition off. Turn ignition on. Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) self-test will start. If SKIS indicator light illuminates for about 4 seconds and then goes out, go to next step. If SKIS indicator light does not illuminate for about 4 seconds and then go out, go to step 3.
- Using scan tool, select VEHICLE THEFT/SECURITY, then SKIM DTCs. If any SKIM DTCs are present, go to VTSS INDICATOR INOPERATIVE under VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM. If no SKIM DTCs are present, test is complete. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Using scan tool, select VEHICLE THEFT/SECURITY, then SKIM DTCs. If no SKIM DTCs are present, go to next step. If any SKIM DTCs are present, go to VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM . Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Remove and inspect SKIS indicator bulb. Replace as needed. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
- Replace instrument printed circuit board. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST under VERIFICATION TESTS.
